Channels play, but the TV guide (EPG) is empty, wrong, or incomplete in an IPTV app. Guide problems are separate from playlist playback. Website Live TV can show a richer on-site schedule than many external apps.
Fix playback first
If nothing plays, fix the playlist first — EPG will not help. Confirm live video works, then chase the guide. Playback checklist: Premium IPTV is not working.
Guide data in the playlist vs a separate EPG URL
M3U Plus includes guide-related metadata in the playlist we serve. Many apps still ignore that and show no programme list until you add a separate source.
- Often works from the playlist alone: Televizo on Android TV (still worth a manual refresh if the grid stays empty).
- Often needs the XMLTV / EPG URL from My Account: TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, many Samsung / LG / Hisense IPTV apps.
- Partial guide: some players show logos and categories but an empty grid — treat that as “needs manual EPG,” not a dead account.
The XMLTV link is only for the TV guide. It is not a channel playlist. Copy both from My Account → IPTV.
Add or refresh the XMLTV / EPG URL
Add your playlist first, then paste the EPG URL only where the app asks for EPG / XML / programme guide. Update or refresh EPG; assign it to the playlist if the app offers that step.
- TiviMate (Fire TV / Android TV): Settings → EPG → EPG sources → Add source → paste → Update EPG → optionally Assign EPG.
- IPTV Smarters: EPG field when adding a playlist, or Settings → EPG → Update / Refresh.
- Televizo: if the grid is empty after M3U Plus, force an EPG refresh; add the XMLTV URL if the app allows a second source.
- Samsung / LG Smart TV IPTV apps: EPG / XML / guide source in playlist settings — many never read guide data from M3U alone.
Large downloads can take a few minutes before the programme list fills. Refresh EPG after big game days if listings look stale.
Guide empty but today’s games are in the channel list
Site match streams can appear as channels under Streameast … groups even when the grid is blank. That is normal for some apps. You can still open those channels; fixing the guide is optional for playback. If events are wrong or old, refresh the playlist — old or missing events in the playlist.
When the app cannot show a guide
- No EPG add option — in-app guide may stay empty; try Televizo or TiviMate, or use programme info on Live TV in the browser.
- Richer listings on the website than in the app — normal; the on-site schedule is not identical to every third-party player.
